Petition updateUpdate Covid-19 restrictions to allow two support people for birth

Are support people 'visitors'?

Should a hospital's Covid-19 visitor policy include support people for labour? Are support people invited into the birth space to simply visit? Not likely.

"Women who received continuous labour support were more likely to give birth vaginally, and had fewer caesarean, forceps or assisted vacuum births. In addition, women were less likely to use pain medications, were more likely to be satisfied with their birth experience and had shorter labours." (World Health Organisation)

We're not asking for additional visitors. We're asking for our chosen support people.
