At present, the Gold Coast has a fragmented transport network, with heavy rail and light rail connections reliant on bus services. This results in an unreliable network, inefficiencies and excessive travel times. Road congestion continues to increase when our public transport is not performing.  Stage 2 Light Rail must be the extension to the light rail resulting in an integrated network, with the light rail extended to the heavy rail at Parkwood and to Helensvale. The 2018 Commonwealth Games will showcase our city to the world, our transport network is critical to the success of the Games. To be a world class city, we need a world class transport network and all levels of government are pleaded with to commit to a funding framework and delivery method before this window of opportunity closes! Current residents, future residents, visitors and supporters of the Gold Coast should get behind this cause to ensure our City shines in 2018.  Let's send a clear message to the politicians that we want this extension to the light rail. The aim is 50,000 signatures by June 30th 2015! Please help spread the word!
