WHILE WE ARE FAST APPROACHING 21,000 SIGNATURES - WE NEED MORE HELP

Folks, this petition is going really well, and I would like to shout out to those who have helped us promote this petition.

However, we are after more numbers. We do really need a large number of people to sign this petition, because you can bet there will be a lot of resistance to any changes to the current 'status quo' of police policing themselves. 

I asked a question a couple of days ago on some social media groups - "who has been targeted for extra attention by police after lodging a complaint about them". Well, the results are not surprising at all, there are lots of people who have spoken out about this. This can only happen in a system with absolutely no transparency or public scrutiny what so ever!

The obvious answer is = a committee of civilians to scrutinize complaints about police misconduct. This includes deaths in custody or any other assault (yes 'excessive force' is actually a criminal assault) by police against a civilian.

The standard you walk past, is the standard you accept folks. For far too long, individuals trying to complain against a system set up to automatically discredit you, leads to many police getting away with behaviour that should it be committed by a civilian would lead to a criminal conviction - and payment of compensation to their victims.

If EVERYONE who has signed this petition just got 2 other people to sign - yes that is right - just 2 other people, we would have in excess of 60,000 signatures for justice and fairness.
