WE HAVE A DUTY FOLKS - A DUTY TO ENSURE POLICE ARE SCRUTINIZED APPROPRIATELY
The ONLY way police in Queensland are going to be scrutinized appropriately is with Civilian Oversight into policing generally.
The news article attached to this update details YET ANOTHER CASE OF A POLICE OFFICER BEING CHARGED WITH COMPUTER HACKING - that's what they call it to minimise responsibility folks - you see, it avoids any association with what it actually is - A GROSS VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS!
The Human Rights Act outlines a number of issues that are supposed to be protected. ONE OF THEM IS THE PROTECTION TO NOT HAVE ONE'S PRIVACY UNJUSTLY INTERFERED WITH.
Yet, this is an ONGOING ISSUE that the vast majority of police officers caught doing this, GET AWAY WITHOUT ANY SANCTION OF ANY MEANING WHAT SO EVER!....
Repeated warnings to police don't work. The CCC does not work. The Police Internal Investigations DON'T WORK! So, what will?
I believe there should be an automatic right to compensation, and if a police officer is guilty of a crime that breaches the rights of a Citizen, then that police officer should have to pay fhe compensation out of their own pocket!
It is the ONLY way to get compliance.
Next, any police officer found committing any criminal offence, should NO LONGER BE A POLICE OFFICER - FULL STOP!
