In case you missed it.

The Paris public prosecutor has requested that Air France and Airbus stand trial on charges of manslaughter over the 2009 crash of flight AF447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, which killed all 228 people on board, a judicial source told Reuters.

  • "Paris prosecutor now says there were “blameworthy infringements” on the part of Air France, notably in crew training, and says Airbus under-estimated the risks posed by ice on the sensors"

Ten years on, questions remain over response to Air France 447

  • '"many pilots are ordered to use autopilot as much as possible"
  • “Automation is what makes your life much easier but then the minute you need to use your skills you find that most pilots have lost some,”

Note: Still to this day no formal Public apology has yet been received from either Airbus or Qantas regarding the Qantas Flight 72 incident on October 7, 2008.
