To all who has the power to help Australia fight for what is right,
Senator Pauline Hanson
Senator Corey Bernardi
Senator Rex Patrick
Senator Jackie Lambie
Senator Malcolm Roberts
Senator Stirling Griff
We are here to write this for one sole purpose. We need you! You have people in your best interest, that is why you are in politics.
You have a mission to fight for what is right and when the little guy is struggling to be seen, you use your knowledge and your expertise to raise them up so people will see their battle and know of their story.
As the people, we want to share with you a story, one we hope you will help us with so we can change the ending.
You may know some of this story, you may not.
On October 7, 2008, the lives of 315 people changed forever. Heading on the Singapore to Perth flight, it was just like any other flight. The safety announcement done, the passengers set in for an enjoyable flight, without realising it was soon to be the terror flight from hell.
The plane was just over the Indian Ocean when all of a sudden the plane took a nose dive heading straight for the water.
The plane recovered but then again took another nose dive heading straight back down, heading to end all the lives on board. But it didn’t, and you know why? It was because of Qantas Captain Kevin Sullivan (Ret.) and his flight crew, First Officer Peter Lipsett and Second Officer Ross Hales.
One of the planes autopilot systems disconnected on that day, which left all of the 315 lives in the hands of Captain Sullivan and his team. The Qantas manual was deemed useless as it didn’t prepare the crew for this kind of failure.
So this meant, Captain Sullivan a former U.S Navy Top Gun had to use his Navy training to save all the 315 lives, and obviously you know the outcome because we are here today to tell you this story. He successfully and skillfully managed to land that plane not in the ocean, but at Learmonth Airport, on the North coast of Western Australia.
Not only did the team save us from going headfirst into the Indian Ocean, but managed to safely land at an airport.
Now you know the background, you know that if it weren’t for the heroic actions of Captain Kevin Sullivan and his flight crew, First Officer Peter Lipsett and Second Officer Ross Hales, Qantas would have had a lot to answer if 315 people didn’t make it home from that flight.
How can you not count your lucky stars? These three men single handily saved Qantas from a massive crisis and guess what?
In the 10 years since this has happened, not ONE of those men has been publicly acknowledged and recognised for that day. Not one of the Board of Directors at Qantas has, to this day recognised those men, the men that saved lives and saved the business from crisis and maybe even ruins.
You might have heard this on the channel 7 program, Sunday Night only months ago.
After countless contact with Qantas they have made it very clear - if these men were to be awarded what they deserve, Australia’s highest civilian bravery award, The Cross of Valor (CV), for acts of the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme peril, which is clearly the case here, then it is up to the Government to support this campaign.
So we need someone who stands for social injustice, who will fight for the people and won’t back down until something has been done! We need someone willing to help us see these men recognised for what they did!
These men are ‘THE REAL HEROES!’ Not many could say they would fight back any fear they have to successfully land a plane full of 315 people.
So what are we asking of you today? We know you have the ability to fight for these men, to fight for those 315 people of the QF72 on that terror flight from hell and to fight back for all the people supporting this journey.
We are asking you to please accept our petition and this letter and on our behalf take it to parliament and address this act of heroism! Taking action before the Government will make this issue very hard to avoid.
All we want is for these men to be publicly acknowledged and recognised for saving 315 lives, people who have saved fewer lives have been honoured, so why not these men? This event is an important part of our Australian aviation history, and it cannot be ignored any longer!
Australia’s Flagship Carrier ‘Qantas Airways’ is what is today because these Men Of Valor, “Left No One Behind!”
We know you have the power to help us! Please do what is right, the Australian people and our brothers and sisters worldwide need you!
Kind regards,
People Power @Change.org Petition: 50,000 + People Australia / Worldwide
