Dear Supporters
Thank you very much again for supporting my petition, which has collected 2,000 more signatures since yesterday's update!
This update will be a continuation and development of yesterday's one, in which I described how my penultimate lawyers (Signature Litigation and its partner Josh Wong, in particular) by conducting strange correspondence (including secretly from me – their client), have created the formal reasons for the oligarchs to going to the court in order to stifle my claim (with the help of interim security) and prevent the lawsuit from being considered on the merits. Having created this formal basis, Signature Litigation, the very next day after the oligarchs filed their applications for stifling the lawsuit with the court, without any warning, left the game, leaving me alone to deal with the problems they created.
But I was incredibly lucky and a month later I was able to find new lawyers (the law firm Candey) who agreed to work on a pay-after-win basis (this is an extremely rare option and lawyers only go for it if they are first convinced that it is almost impossible to lose a claim). Thus, after the problems created by Signature, I left still not alone with these problems, but managed to find lawyers who had to prepare within a month answers to the oligarchs' applications for killing the lawsuit (filed "thanks" to the efforts of Signature). Simultaneously, it was necessary to file a response to the oligarchs' applications for challenging jurisdiction, and the total amount of documents that I and my new lawyers had to respond to was approximately 2,700 pages.
But a few days before the deadline, my new lawyers suddenly became extremely insistent and even aggressive in demanding that our response be only 3-5 pages long, consist exclusively of headlines and hints, and contain no evidence. It became obvious that the oligarchs also bribed my new lawyers, who were supposed to solve the problems created by the first bribed lawyers (Signature). Now the investigation of the second part of this story has begun, because it is obvious to any sane person that the demand of Candey is complete nonsense. Instead of solving the problems created by the first bribed lawyers, the second bribed lawyers intended to make these problems worse and actually drive the last nail into the coffin of the lawsuit (instead of removing the first nail driven in by Signature). Since what the oligarchs wanted to do has a special name in English law – stifling a claim (without consideration of the merits), then the analogy with the coffin is quite appropriate.
But even after this double-bribery, I managed to resist this and actually proved at the first court hearing that the defendants' chances to kill the claim in this way are zero. After that, the oligarchs began to pursue the same goal in a different way, ensuring that the court did not allow me to continue the proceedings without lawyers. This method of killing the claim looks absolutely cynical and blasphemous against the background of the oligarchs' bribery of two law firms that were supposed to protect my interests, but actually began to work for the oligarchs.
The oligarchs have managed to implement their trick with the help of deputy judge Mr Beltrami KC who turned out to be extremely closely connected with the lawyers of the oligarchs, but contrary to the requirements of the Guide to Judicial Conduct he chose not to disclose this information to me (I found out about their connections after the decision was made). This story is described in the main text of the petition, where I demand to investigate the story with Mr Beltrami KC. Now, I want to focus on another aspect.
It is clear that the customers and organizers of the bribery of my lawyers were exactly the Russian oligarchs, for whom corruption is the most beloved way to solve any problem. It is not for nothing that a personal friend of Putin owns 20% of PhosAgro shares worth more than a billion dollars, and according to the team of the opposition and world-famous Russian politician Alexei Navalny, in fact, Putin himself owns these shares and this is a bribe from PhosAgro (https://youtu.be/akM93cD1NLA starting at 02:07).
But it is also quite clear that it was not the oligarchs themselves who discussed the details of bribing my lawyers and the specific legal steps by which they jointly intended to kill the lawsuit. The oligarchs are far from legal nuances, and to discuss these nuances, people are needed who are well-versed in these legal matters.
The number of English lawyers who serve these oligarchs in the framework of my lawsuit is measured in dozens. These are very well-known and respectable lawyers from very well-known and respectable British and even international firms: Brown Rudnick, PCB Byrne, Simmons & Simmons (and Asserson before Simmons & Simmons).
It turns out that, at a minimum, these British and international lawyers, together with my bribed lawyers, were discussing a specific plan of action and agreeing on various legal details aimed at getting them together to kill the claim. That is, numerous British lawyers of the oligarchs, even if they did not participate in the bribery process, could not help but know that Signature and Candey were bribed by their clients. It couldn't have been any other way, because someone had to talk to my lawyers about these purely legal nuances aimed at killing the claim. The same Josh Wong had to agree beforehand with one of the oligarchs' lawyers that he would not respond to such and such a letter from them, and such and such a letter from them would not show me. That is, they couldn't help but coordinate their actions.
The law explicitly prohibits British lawyers from participating in the crimes of clients, even if the client very persistently asks for it and promises to reward them handsomely. And in this case, we are talking about the complicity of British lawyers in the crimes of their super-rich clients. In other words, it turns out that we are talking about organized crime, in which numerous British lawyers are involved. It is possible that not all of the dozens of lawyers who serve the oligarchs were involved in this criminal activity, but that some of them participated (discussing the details of joint actions with my bribed lawyers) is certain, and it simply cannot be otherwise.
Most likely, these are the most important lawyers on the part of the oligarchs (hardly ordinary clerks), which are:
- Nick Micklethweite of Brown Rudnick (which serves the interests of PhosAgro owner Guryev since 2008, when he helped him in a top-secret mode to buy the second after Buckingham Palace Witanhurst mansion knowing that the person he works for is a Russian government official).
- Anthony Riem of PCB Byrne.
- Ed Crosse of Simmons & Simmons who – it should be noted – came into play after the stories with Signature and Candey).
- Alec Cairney and Steven Philippsohn of Asserson, which were before Ed Crosse and Simmons & Simmons.
- Mr Swainston KC who is the main speaker at the hearings and who simultaneously represents Russia in international courts, where seriously tries to prove that Russia did not annex Crimea and accuses Ukraine and Western countries of providing fake evidence.
If we talk about lower-ranking British lawyers, then even if they did not know about the collusion with my lawyers, at least they could not help but guess what was going on.
In the comments to the petition, I saw a mention of the mafia, and it was this comment that came to mind to me now. Indeed, the number of Britons alone who are involved in the corrupt activities of Russian oligarchs in Britain is impressive. Of course, the full and exact composition of this organized criminal group must be established by investigators who have a huge arsenal of means for this (interrogations, searches, wiretapping, etc.), which I do not have. But this must be investigated and brought to justice, and each participant in this large-scale criminal scam must be held accountable.
Therefore, I kindly ask you to continue to support my petition because Russian oligarchs are destroying the foundations of British law and order.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Igor Sychev
