We want to thank you all for your ongoing support. Today, the judge pushed back the court date. This was done so that the judge could make an informed decision when sentencing begins. She needs to get the proper documentation pertinent to the hearing, etc. Specifically, the DA, defense attorney and parole officer all have to exchange their documentation related to the case. The DA's documentation alone, which she handed to the judge, is a binder over 4 inches thick and included our letters, petition, etc. Due to court scheduling the case is set for January 26 at 9:00 am. Please, mark your calendars and plan to show up at the court. On January 26, we need to come back to court as that will be the day when the judge will receive all of the update reports needed for sentencing (medical reports, probation reports, etc). That will also be the day that they will be deciding when the sentencing will begin (The DA expected that it will be a long sentence hearing). The DA has asked that we keep sending letters to the judge, expressing the impact this case has had on our community. This will help her reach the decision that Farmer should be charged to the fullest extent that the law will allow (up to 16 years in prison). We also need to make sure we share the petition linked at the bottom as public awareness is big factor in this animal cruelty case.
