Chatman 11/9/2016 Superior Court of CA County of Santa Clara Your Honor Judge Chatman, As members of Justice for Catz & Justice for Our Catz we are writing regarding the animal cruelty case "People vs Robert Farmer". In the interests of justice and the safety of our society, we urge you to sentence Farmer to the fullest extent that the law will allow, which is 16 years and 4 months in prison. Please also enter a court order to never allow him to own or control animals in the future. Robert Farmer kidnapped, tortured and killed many cats from our community. We care and love our animals as part of our families and feel that there should be no reason to fear for their safety because of people like this. We don't think the fact that these crimes were committed on animals as opposed to people in any way diminishes the heinousness of the crime. Observing him in court during each hearing we have never seen one hint of remorse from him. We have concerns that he is incapable of such feelings. We fear he is a serial killer in the making. We don't believe any amount of counseling will change his behavior. We can only see his problems escalating. We fear eventually he will take the life of people. Our pets are truly family members. They are loved, cared for and respected as they should be. Knowing what Robert Farmer has done to these innocent victims is beyond heartbreaking. It displays someone who has no conscience or respect for animals. He needs to be held accountable. It is very important that we do our best to stop this from happening again. Please send a strong and clear message to society and potential animal abusers that this Court will not tolerate animal abuse. Judge Chatman, please keep us and our pets safe from Robert Farmer and sentence him to the maximum prison time which is 16 years and 4 months.
