Thank you!!! Thank You!! All of us made this happen! Justice has been served for each one of the 21 victims. Farmer plead guilty to all 21 counts felony counts!!! The DA told us that all along Farmer has had the option to plead guilty, so today he plead guilty. This was a negotiated disposition in other words there was no plea bargain. Farmer accepted his guild and plead guilty to all 21 counts. There will be a full sentencing hearing likely beginning of next year. On December 8th we do need to come back to court as that will be the day when the judge will receive all of the reports needed for sentencing (medical reports, probation reports, etc) That will also be the day that they will be deciding when the sentencing will begin (DA anticipates that it will be a long sentence hearing) This was definitely a surprise to all of us. Essentially Farmer plead guilty to every count! The DA explained that this was the same effect as if he had been on trial and found guilty on all crimes. After trial it would have been up to the judge and NOW it is STILL up to the judge. The Judge has the option of sentencing him for up to 16 years 4 mos (maximum allowable) SO with this said… this is not over my friends…. Now more than ever we need to support the DA. The DA has asked that we send letters to the judge (I will be posting about this as soon as I receive information) in the DA words “we need to let the judge know how this has affected you” so my friends we need to keep the good fight going. Please stay tunned for updates and ways in which you can help. We also need to make sure we share the petition. And let me tell you EACH and EVERY ONE of YOU have made a difference. The outcome would have been different if only 6 or 7 of the owners were present each time- because we have had a presence and support FROM EACH ONE OF YOU- is why the outcome is what it is. I look back and think of what I had posted a year ago about the Starfish story and I think of the old man that told the little girl after he saw her throwing star fishes back to the ocean “Look at this beach little girl! You can’t save all of the starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” and how she replied Well, I made a difference to that one!” Same thing goes to us… Please please tonight go to your fury little animals- give them a tight hug and tell them that they should be proud of you as you threw that starfish to the ocean and thus made a difference. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement. She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said.
