The next step with Madi’s Law petition is “To create legislation for introduction in the House of Commons requires sponsorship either by a private Member of Parliament, or by the government. But this is not an automatic process that stems from the petition.”

I have great news, Bryce McRae who is Stakeholder Relations Manager Opposition Leader’s Office got a hold of me. I have a meeting scheduled with Pierre Poilievre’s members of policy team at the leader office, MP Anna Roberts and Bryce McRae on April 23rd. They want to ensure I  have ample opportunity to speak to the folks that are critical to the policy process for their party. 

I also asked for a meeting and picture (to share with Madi’s Law supporters) with Pierre Poilievre but  they said “Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate a meeting at this time with Mr. Poilievre due to incredibly tight time constraints.” You can’t blame a lady for trying! I’m certain the team provided will be just as wonderful! We’ll get that picture later (wink, wink). 

I’ll keep everyone posted. After all the emails and invites sent out I’m pleased to finally get a meeting! Thank you for supporting Madi’s Law! Please continue to share! The higher the numbers the more likely Madi’s Law is to become legislation. Let’s save some lives with this common sense waiver!
