I’m pleased to let everyone know that we have heard from Manitoba! They sent the pasted email below. After reading it, I sent Madi’s Law to the regulatory college’s they recommended me to email.

Dear Louise Carter:
I am writing on behalf of the Honourable Uzoma Asagwara, Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care, in response to your email regarding the establishment of a psychotropic drugs safety waiver. My sincerest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
Please be assured that the Manitoba government is committed to improving health care resources and policies and ensuring all Manitobans have access to safe health care.
Your email has been shared with department staff for review and consideration. You are also encouraged to reach out to the provincial and territorial regulatory colleges (e.g., The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba), as they set out standards of practice for their respective professions.
Thank you for sharing your perspective and raising awareness regarding Madi’s Law and the establishment of psychotropic drug safety waivers in Canada. Your suggestion is greatly appreciated, and I wish you all the best in advocating for Madi’s Law across Canada.
 Sincerely,
On behalf of
Robert Shaffer
Assistant Deputy Minister

I continue to send weekly emails to try and get support for Madi’s Law across Canada. Again, Thank you everyone for supporting Madi’s Law! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
