Madi’s Law has over 8000 supporters now and is heading towards 200 000 views! I am so proud that the topic of prescribing powerful mind altering drugs in a safer, more responsible way has been brought to the attention of the Canadian Government. I never win because my daughter is gone…death is final. It does however bring comfort to know that Canada’s mental health system can potentially improve because of the legacy Madisyn Solomon’s death leaves. Lives can be saved, harm can be prevented! So many supporters joined because this is a HUGE problem that needs to be addressed!

My name is ____________ and I am emailing in support of the House of Commons petition number 441-01652 also known as Madi’s Law. I believe that a psychotropic drugs safety waiver is urgently needed in Canada to prevent harm and save lives. I believe 

A mandatory psychotropic drugs safety waiver should be signed when a patient in Canada is given a psychotropic drug they have never taken before;

These drugs are powerful and mind-altering;

There is no scientific way of knowing how a patient will respond; and

A safety waiver would ensure that at least one caregiver is notified so they can help monitor the patient for adverse reactions such as suicidal ideation until such a time that it's deemed safe for the patient to take the drug

Many have been harmed or died. Please prevent deaths like Madisyn Solomon’s and legislate the use of a psychotropic drugs safety waiver in Canada ASAP. Canadians deserve safer mental health practices. Thank You.
