The issue
Thousands of businesses in Kosovo are losing access to WhatsApp Business — and many appear to be Vala customers.

For many small businesses in Kosovo, WhatsApp Business is not just another messaging app. It is how they communicate with customers, confirm orders, answer questions, manage appointments, receive requests and keep their businesses running every day.

Now, affected businesses are suddenly seeing the same devastating message:

“This account can’t use WhatsApp.”

And even worse:

“Requesting a review is not available.”

Business owners are left with no meaningful explanation, no human support and no clear path to recover their accounts.

Many of us have not intentionally violated WhatsApp’s rules. We are legitimate businesses trying to serve our customers. Yet we are losing years of customer relationships, conversations and access to one of our most important communication channels.

The impact is real.

Customers cannot reach us.
Orders and inquiries are being lost.
Business operations are being interrupted.
Employees and owners are spending days trying to recover accounts instead of running their businesses.

What makes this situation even more concerning is that many of the affected accounts appear to be connected to Vala mobile numbers in Kosovo. This raises an urgent question that needs investigation by WhatsApp/Meta and the relevant telecom parties.

We are not asking WhatsApp to weaken its security systems.

We are asking for something basic and fair:

Give legitimate businesses the right to be heard.

WhatsApp and Meta should urgently:

Investigate the unusually high number of affected Vala-linked WhatsApp Business accounts in Kosovo.
Provide a real human review process when the application says that requesting a review is unavailable.
Restore accounts that were blocked incorrectly or because of activity outside the legitimate owner's control.
Explain the reason for permanent account restrictions.
Create an escalation channel for businesses whose operations depend on WhatsApp Business.
Behind every blocked account there is a real person.

A shop.
A restaurant.
A service company.
A family business.
Employees.
Customers.

We should not lose our businesses because an automated system made a decision that we are not even allowed to appeal.

Our message to WhatsApp and Meta
We did nothing wrong.

Do not silence legitimate Kosovo businesses without giving them a chance to defend themselves.

Investigate this issue. Give us access to human support. Give us the right to appeal. Restore accounts that were wrongfully blocked.
