Dear Supporters,

Thank you so much for signing the petition to protect Billingooroo. Your support is crucial in our mission to protect this sacred site and the vulnerable flatback turtles that returns here to nest. Protecting Billingooroo is not just the responsibility of the Djukun people, it is a responsibility we all share as a community.

The presence of vehicle tracks on Cable Beach creates steep obstacles that the turtle hatchlings struggle to navigate, preventing many from making it to the ocean. To see the impact firsthand, check out this recent Facebook video showing the hatchlings at Billingooroo unable to find the ocean due to the deep vehicle tracks embedded in the sand.

To further amplify our cause, please consider writing an email to Divina D'Anna, MLA for the Kimberley, at Divina.DAnna@mp.wa.gov.au, urging her to protect the turtles at Billingooroo and permanently close Cable Beach to vehicles.

By sharing and promoting this petition and taking this extra step, you can help ensure that we preserve the cultural and environmental significance of Billingooroo, ensuring it remains a place of beauty, history, and life for generations to come. Together, we can make a difference.

We’ll be in touch soon with the next update!

Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,
J.Ozies
