It is with a heavy heart that I embark on this initiative, deeply impacted by the alarming number of women in our society who endure the repercussions of sexual assault. For far too many, the pain of their experiences is a burden they are forced to carry silently. It is a grave issue that demands urgent attention and action.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. This is an alarming statistic that shows the extent of the epidemic we are failing to address effectively. Thus, it becomes our duty to propel a cultural shift towards respect and dignity.

The change starts with young men; for them to understand that their actions have consequences, that harm inflicted upon others is not only illegal, but morally reprehensible. If we can engender this understanding, we can begin to create safer spaces for women worldwide.
