A suspiciously timed response and an outrageous disregard for expert guidance

As my petition gains traction and journalists begin contacting me, the ICB has finally replied. The timing feels very coincidental.
Their response only makes me angrier-and exposes a much wider problem: experts can recommend care through NICE guidance, yet local NHS funding bodies can still refuse to provide it.
Their position effectively amounts to: NICE may recommend it, but we don’t have to fund it.
What is the point of national, evidence-based guidance if local bodies can disregard it? Patients should not lose access to expert-recommended care because of where they live.
They also haven’t confirmed that a fertility specialist reviewed my case—only a clinician with expertise in the funding process.
Their response seems to place no importance on specialist clinical expertise whatsoever.
Please keep signing and sharing. This goes far beyond my case.
