Thank you for signing our petition on protecting Working Holiday Maker (Backpacker) visas in Australia.
The Federal Government has announced planned changes to the Working Holiday Maker program, including at least a 43% cut to second and third visas and the introduction of a random ballot to determine who receives them.
WHMs will still need to complete the required specified work (88 days for a second visa and 179 days for a third) but will then enter a random ballot for a limited number of visas — with no guarantee of receiving one.
