Dear Supporters,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me in calling for change. With your help, we’ve already reached over 450 signatures, and we’re so close to hitting 500. Your support means more than words can say.

This petition isn’t just about numbers, it’s about lives. It’s about raising our voices for women and children who need protection, and demanding that coercive control and domestic violence be treated with the seriousness they deserve.

Queensland has taken a powerful step by introducing Hannah’s Law, named after Hannah Clarke, to strengthen protections against coercive control. But here in New South Wales, we’re falling behind.

The introduction of coercive control laws in NSW was meant to mark a turning point but the numbers are incredibly alarming. Since being criminalised, there have been 157 reported cases and only three charges laid. Of those:

 • One case was found guilty

 • One was withdrawn

 • One is still pending

These numbers speak volumes. Women are speaking up. Victims are reporting. But the system is not responding with the urgency or seriousness required.

We are only just beginning. I know I am just one voice, but with your continued support, we are building a movement. Please help me get to 500 signatures by sharing this petition far and wide. Every signature matters. Every voice counts.

Together, we can make change ♥️

With deep gratitude,

Rhiannon Purcell
