Updates

On March 17th, the district put out a new proposal during negotiations. They have proposed to keep the detrimental health care benefit cap and give staff a 2% raise, as well as a one-time payment of $5,000 for one full-time employee. Not only is the 2% raise a small amount that will bring home a mere extra $50-$100, but the health care benefit cap will still result in a pay cut for employees. Health insurance costs are also projected to rise 6-8% per year. The district is finding any way possible to avoid paying staff who care for students an adequate salary and instead prioritizing the budget for those who do not work with children or help children become members of our society. The proposal for VUEA (Certified Staff) is available here, and the proposal for VESPA (Classified Staff) is available here.

Announcement

The district is noticing the voices of the people, noticing that people are growing increasingly upset with their wrongdoings. As of now, this petition stands at 460 signatures and is rising. Now is the time for the community of Ventura to unite against our district's wrongdoings! They want to take from students and staff who directly impact students, instead of considering taking from themselves first. If you are interested in making an impact, please continue to share this petition across social media, to your family and friends, and your workplace, if possible. Also, attend board meetings and either be present or speak your mind and let your voice be heard, and attend rallies and other community events as well. The education of children is at risk! As a community and as members of human society, we must fight against the things that endanger our students' future.
