When I first started this petition, my plan was to focus on lobbying state officials to push back against USPS privatization. However, I’ve come to realize that our fight needs to be much bigger and move much faster if we want to truly save the Postal Service. That’s why I’m expanding this petition to a nationwide effort—because the threats to the USPS are not just about privatization.
Right now, there are efforts underway that could remove USPS from the oversight of Congress, effectively cutting it off from direct accountability to the American people and voters. This is more than just privatization—this could mean a merger that reshapes the USPS in ways that limit public influence, making it harder for us to protect and preserve this essential service.
Congress—both at the state and national levels—is one of the few institutions we can directly lobby as citizens. Unlike the executive branch, where decisions are made behind closed doors, we have a direct line to our representatives, and they are accountable to us. That’s why we need to take action now—by lobbying both state and federal lawmakers before it’s too late.
To help with this effort, I encourage you to visit PreserveUSPS.org—a resource dedicated to
This is our Postal Service, and it should remain for the people, not for profit. If we don’t act now, we risk losing it forever. Keep sharing, keep speaking up, and let’s make sure Congress knows that the USPS must stay public, accountable, and protected.
Thank you for your support—this fight just got bigger, and together, we will make a difference!
