Dear Supporters,

We are grateful for your continued support in protecting the Saamaka people and the Amazon forest in Suriname.

A new report detailing the current situation in the Saamaka territory will be released on 28 June in a mass demonstration in Suriname. The Saamaka people will march to demand the Surinamese government comply with the IACHR ruling and stop the damage in their territory. Without your support, it wouldn’t be possible.

This week, we want to ask for your support to help the Saamaka struggle to reach more people:

Join the mobilisation on June 28, 2024 - the Saamaka will protest and ask the government of Suriname to stop logging and recognise their right to land.

  • Download our media kit and spread the word on social media, among friends, and in your community.
  • Keep sharing the petition: Add your name to show your support.
  • Stay tuned: new data report launching June 28, 2024. Don't miss the latest research findings from LandMark - Global platform of Indigenous and community lands

Thank you for standing in solidarity. Your support is more important than ever,

The Saamaka People
