The Supreme Court on Thursday (August 14, 2025) reserved its order on pleas challenging its August 11 directive to round up all stray dogs from the capital’s streets and confine them in shelters within six to eight weeks, with a stipulation that they must never be released into public spaces again.

A Bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and N.V. Anjaria, however, declined to grant a stay on the directions issued to municipal authorities.
