On October 1st, some of the rarest wetlands in Michigan, home to old growth trees and endangered species, will begin to be cleared out to make room for a landfill expansion just outside of Detroit.

"According to the Nature Conservancy, wet-mesic flatwoods are one of the 200 rarest places on earth. No wetland mitigation can replace this priceless piece of Michigan's natural heritage, which took thousands of years to form."  (FULL STORY)

The small campaign organized to protect this area reached out to us and has requested that we help amplify their efforts. Folks, it doesn't matter who you are or where you live: Water is what connects all of us across county, state, country, and species lines.

Please take five minutes out of your day to participate in their letter writing campaignDeadline: NOW!

The Protect The Porkies campaign believes firmly that all fights are connected, and only by recognizing this fact do we stand a chance of winning the war to reclaim the Earth.

In solidarity,
The ProtectThePorkies Team
