Hi Everyone
Thank you for signing and sharing the petition and for supporting the Litchfield-Finniss region to be free from uranium and lithium mining. Thanks to you we are nearly at 1000 signatures in just 7 days.
There are six days left before the petition needs to be submitted to the NT Government on 6 October 2022 ACST (Australian Central Standard Time). If you know anyone who would like to sign and share the petition and you haven’t had a chance to share the petition with them yet here is the link to pass on https://chng.it/QWf92Tx5
The local residents are very grateful for your support. It is in coming together that we have the greatest chance to have the application for the mineral title rejected. Trevor, my partner who has been for the past three years since we became landholders in the area, working tirelessly to establish an organic permaculture based market garden that works with and respects nature and does least harm to the earth, wanted to say thank you.
Trevor’s thank you
Over the years I have witnessed multiple incidents, here in the Top End, where mining companies neglect responsibility to protect and remediate the natural environment - the very same physical environment which supports us all as human beings. We 'belong with', and within, this creation. As such, within Natural Law, we have a responsibility to protect all that which we belong with.
Environmentally destructive practices are not a part of sustainability. The past has shown that there is virtually no accountability in the oversight of many of these projects and a very recent development near Darwin (lithium mine) is already polluting water draining into Darwin Harbour; proof of the ongoing neglect of responsibility by both mining operators and the government.
I thank all those that have signed this petition. Together we are doing what we are doing, because it is right.
In sincere appreciation

Some Uplifting Resources
All the residents involved in this campaign are very grateful for your support and to say thank you this update includes
1. The beautiful Ajeet Kaur and Peia signing Haseya. A love song to the Earth and coming together in love and strength. “Haseya” means to rise up, or she rises, in Diné, the language of the Navajo people. Ajeet writes “We are all being called to go deeper, to feel the connection to every soul, and to the earth we all share. Haseya is the name of my new album as these songs are a prayer to come back home to our connection, to come back into stillness and the rhythm of nature where we can feel our oneness.” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0pVnrwH7ss
2. A video of Litchfield National Park by Into The Wild Films showing the immense natural beauty of the area, its animals, birds and its very important waterways -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEgzIan-Nyo
3. Two extracts from The Little Book of Nature Blessings by Tessa Delbridge for the just passed equinox.
a. Spring Equinox “this is a great time to sow seeds. As you plant, say ‘May the dream seeds I embed, Root, flower and manifest.” Feel the richness of the soil and visualize your wishes coming true.” (p 140).
b. Autumn Equinox “Clearing out in autumn is just as important as clearing in spring…. In spring we make room for new growth…In autumn…it is about making room for contemplation.” (p. 207).
Making an individual submission to object the licence
While petitions have a lot of power, individual submissions are also very powerful. If you would like to submit an individual objection to the application for a mineral title a submission can be emailed to titles.info@nt.gov.au before 7 October 2022 ACST (Australian Central Standard Time).
Below is a link to a submission writing guide and an example submission letter which can be used as a template for witting a submission to object the grating of the licence. The more individual submissions received asking for the rejection of the mineral title to URO Corporation, the more the Northern Territory Government needs to listen. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5f5w02dvqxc7si8/Submission%20Writing%20Guide%20%26%20Example%20Submission.docx?dl=0
