The #stopsolitaryOHyouth campaign has two new endorsers. The first is the National Lawyers Guild - Ohio Chapter. The NLG is dedicated to the need for basic change in the structure of our political and economic system. It seeks to unite lawyers, law students, legal workers and jailhouse lawyers to function as an effective force in the service of the people, to the end that human rights shall be regarded as more sacred than property interests. NLG's aim is to bring together all those who recognize the importance of safeguarding and extending the rights of workers, women, LGBTQ people, farmers, people with disabilities and people of color, upon whom the welfare of the entire nation depends; who seek actively to eliminate racism; who work to maintain and protect our civil rights and liberties in the face of persistent attacks upon them; and who look upon the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression. The second new endorser is the Todd Anthony Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male, which is housed within the Ohio State University campus. It's mission is to examine and address critical issues in society that impact the quality of life for African American males throughout the lifespan. The Center plans to achieve these goals by conducting robust research studies and evaluations that inform social policy and theory on African American males and developing research-based programs, models, and initiatives that could be replicated at other institutions. To this end, the Center expects to serve as a national resource for those individuals interested in learning about best practices and groundbreaking research on African American males throughout the lifespan. A group of law students at Cleveland Marshall hosted a campaign drive last week and several students sent photos showing why they support the campaign. They will be posted on social media, like the one linked to twitter below. If you would like to help with the social media campaign effort contact info@childrenslawky.org
