National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) is an official campaign endorser of Stop Solitary for Ohio. NRCAT, the ACLU, and a number of allies in D.C. have put together an organizational sign-on letter to President Obama to thank him for his historic speech in which he fundamentally questioned the use of solitary confinement – and announced that the Attorney General would conduct a national review of the practice. The letter calls on the President to ensure that the review results in timely, significant recommendations and a path to eliminate long-term isolation in the U.S., with a particular call to take immediate action to reform the practices of the federal Bureau of Prisons.
