Where are the Koalas?

It was brought to our attention today that there was no mention of koalas in the DR or any of the appendices. 

Much to our dismay, this is true. There is not one mention of the impact this development will have on the koalas in the area. 

How can this be a considered development, sympathetic to the environment it sits within.

According to the Department for Environment and Water;

The South Australian Government is committed to:

• Safeguarding the welfare of koalas,

• Increasing the social, educational and economic benefits of having koalas in South Australia, and

• Reducing the negative impacts that over-abundant koala populations may have on broader ecological communities

It is hard to believe the South Australian Government would even consider this report and present it for public comment given how poorly it addresses the key issues that will affect the local area.
