Protect sharks from human threat
The issue
Sharks kill roughly 6 people yearly.
Humans kill roughly 100 million sharks every year.
That's equal to around 274,000 killed daily, 11,000 sharks every hour, 3 sharks every second.
Most deaths caused by sharks to humans are driven by curiosity, confusion or self-defense. While deaths caused from humans to sharks are caused by commercial fishing practice, targeted harvesting, accidental capture, or shark finning.
Just by shark finning around 73 million are killed annually.
Sharks are not the problem, we are.
Millions of sharks are dying every year from us and we are not the only thing killing them.
Sharks play a big part in our environment, they act as top predators that keep ecosystems balanced and healthy without them global marine ecosystems would collapse, and medium- sized predatory fish and other preys population would grow rapidly and if these fishes population over grow they will overeat smaller, algae eating fish driving them to extinction, with no algae eating fish left, thick algae would take over the water, block sunlight, and suffocate coral reefs and seagrass beds.
We need to protect sharks.
We are not the heros.
We are destroying our oceans.
We need to help them before its too late.
