Update: A Critical Opportunity to Protect Health Care Access in Oregon
Friends and supporters,
We want to share an important update — and ask you to take one more powerful step.
Behind the scenes, Scrubs for Sanctuary Oregon has been actively working with partners and advocates to support Oregon Senate Bill 1570 (2026), a bill introduced by the Oregon Nurses Association that directly aligns with the core goals of this petition: protecting access to health care for immigrant and mixed-status families and ensuring that medical settings remain places of care, not fear.
As clinicians, we are witnessing the harm caused when families are afraid to seek care — children growing up anxious and fearful, parents delaying treatment, and communities avoiding clinics altogether. SB 1570 addresses these realities by affirming that access to health care should never be denied or interfered with based on immigration status or national origin.
This legislation reflects what so many of you have already called for by signing this petition. Now, we need to show lawmakers that the public stands firmly behind it.

It only takes a minute, but it makes a real difference.
Thank you for standing with us, for protecting health care as a sanctuary, and for continuing to show up for immigrant families across Oregon. Together, we are helping turn shared values into lasting policy.
With gratitude,
Scrubs for Sanctuary Oregon
