Dear Supporters,
On 4th September 2025, a committee meeting was held regarding the proposed flats on the land adjacent to Sherman’s Close / Evans Court. While the amendments for the dormer windows were approved, many of our most pressing concerns remain unresolved.
This proposal involves building flats on a very small and unsuitable piece of land. The location raises serious issues for both safety and privacy. Potential buyers’ views would look directly into neighbouring gardens and private spaces, which is neither fair for existing residents nor appropriate for future occupants.
In addition:
Neighbouring land has already been damaged by the developer’s work, which councillors acknowledged during the meeting.
The promised retaining wall has not been built, leaving our properties exposed to risk.
There is still a very real danger of landslides, which could cause further and possibly irreversible damage to our gardens and homes.
We are grateful that councillors raised these points, but the risks remain, and we feel they must be properly addressed before any further progress is made.
We kindly ask all of you to continue supporting and sharing this petition so that our concerns are heard and given the attention they deserve. Together, we can keep pressing for the safety, privacy, and wellbeing of our homes and our community.
Thank you all for your continued support.
