2200+ VIDEO CLIPS MOVED TO ICLOUD TO SHARE WITH STAKEHOLDERS

This update is for Friday-Monday, July 1-4. Sorry about the slowdown in updates. I’ve been having technical problems as the volume of video footage shot, consisting of over 2,200 30-second upstream video clips, now exceeds my iPhone 12’s memory capacity. As a result, I am moving all these clips plus the new downstream cam footage to iCloud and will make them available to the stakeholders as soon as I can.

This is my first experience with iCloud and I have to say the result so far is extraordinary. Clips appear in date/time order on iCloud just a few hours after I shoot them. Most of the upstream clips are about 30 seconds long and occur about once every minute or two while I am shooting in the crosswalk. It is possible to page thru every clip of our crosswalk for all the periods I have shot video clips, which is 1-4 hours a day for almost every day for over 5 weeks now.

The holiday weekend was busier than usual but not a blockbuster. Traffic was heavy, the weather was mostly hot and sunny. I continued shooting clips of the crosswalk on red after I pressed the button when pedestrians were waiting to enter the crosswalk. This is resulting in about one clip every minute when there are a lot of pedestrians and one every two or three minutes when there are fewer pedestrians. Over this holiday weekend, it was about 45 clips per hour.

Next week, I plan to shoot continuously from both the upstream and the downstream cams without pressing the call button to get some observations on the voluntary use of the call button. These are likely to be about two-hour sessions.

Today’s screengrab is an Unlimited Bikes tour guide leading his group through a red light in our crosswalk while the safe-to-cross light is white.
