Yery little new video today. I'm sure the hack and pedicab drivers are feeling a sigh of relief that I have not been around with the camera.

The morning started out with a returned call from Roger Mosier, Chief of Operations for the Central Park Conservancy as I was walking the puppy in the park. He said he was getting the word out to his subordinate managers to make sure drivers of CPC vehicles knew and obeyed the traffic rules, particularly at our crosswalk. He thanked me for sending the videos over the Memorial Day holiday of CPC vehicles running the red light in our crosswalk, said he would take action, and invited me to send more. As I said in yesterday's update, CPC vehicles seemed to have mostly gotten the message because as soon as I started making videos of them, the next day more of them began to stop. Probably it's a grapevine thing but it's no difference as long as they stop because if just one stops, others will stop.

Then in the afternoon came a long-awaited call from Kathryn Colglazer, Vice-President for Field Operations at the YMCA, again while I was walking the puppy in the park. Rob Cousins from ECFS was very accessible but it has taken two weeks to get the right YMCA contact in place. Kathryn suggested I work with NYC Councilperson Brewer, which many of the parents have suggested, too. But as of this writing, we only have 138 signatures. By the date of the CB7 full board meeting, we will have 350 or more. Closer to the June 7 meeting is the time to approach Ms. Brewer when we have more clout. Now we need to build a tidal wave.

In between those calls, I talked with parents picking up their kids on 64th street (mostly YMCA) and within a few minutes, our petition had 30 more signatures.

Today's photo is two horse carriages running the red light in our crosswalk nose-to-butt, forming a wall that no pedestrian can possibly penetrate before the ok-to-cross light turns yellow.
