The chainsaws are coming for the urban forested golf courses on your Adelaide Park Lands — and we're asking you to stand with us against them.
This Mother's Day, the Adelaide Park Lands Association is taking a stand. We'll be marking the occasion by tying yellow ribbons around the trees on the edge of the golf course — a simple, powerful gesture of solidarity with the living, breathing urban forest under threat.
This is not just an assault on Adelaide's unique character and your Park Lands. It is an assault on Mother Nature herself. The 585 trees that the Premier has slated for destruction are the lungs of our city and the homes of koalas, birds, possums, and thousands of other species. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Join us.
📍 Meet at Montefiore Hill
🕒 3pm to 4pm, Sunday 10 March, Mother's Day
Ribbons will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own. Scissors, a step ladder, and a smart phone to capture your handiwork would also be useful.
Come with your family, your friends, your kids — and let's show decision-makers that we, in Adelaide, cares about your trees.
Your Park Lands belong to you, and to all of us- not just to millionaire golfers nor the Premier!
Let's protect them.
PS It'll be Mothers Day, so bring your Mum (and your kids) !
