A massive thank you to every single person who has signed, commented, and shared our petition so far! The response across Penicuik shows just how deeply we care about protecting our north-west green spaces from unsustainable over-development.

As our momentum builds, we have two critical updates for the community:
 
📅 1. Meet the Planners Next Tuesday (11th August)

Midlothian Council is hosting an official public drop-in event at Penicuik Library on Tuesday, 11th August, from 12:00 to 19:00.

Our Action: We need as many residents as possible to attend. Go along, look at the big strategy maps, and tell the planning officers directly why building 438 houses on the steep slopes of Rullion Road, Silurian Road, and Dykes Road is an infrastructure disaster for our roads, schools, and GP surgeries.
 
✉️ 2. Turn Your Signature into an Official Submission

While this petition is vital for showing our community strength, council planning officers legally require a direct email or letter from your household to officially register your objection.
If you haven’t done so yet, please email ldp@midlothian.gov.uk.
⚠️ Remember: You must include your first name, surname, and full postal address for it to be legally counted!
 
📄 Leaflets are Moving!

Our volunteers will soon be out dropping physical flyers through doors across the neighbourhood. If you want a stack to give to your immediate neighbours, or if your local shop or café has a noticeboard where we can display one, please let me know.
