Hi friends of the ravine!

We think that a confidential settlement may have been reached. This development is on the City Council’s agenda for a vote next week (November 12-14) with a confidential document listed.

The mediation between Gabriele Homes and the City of Toronto was private and occurred behind closed doors, so we don’t know what agreement was reached and what compromises were made. We won’t know until after council votes. Now, we are depending on Council to vote to protect our ravine.

Last chance to add your voice before council votes!

You’ve written letters to your Councillor (1000 of them!). Now it’s time to add your voice to the official City Council meeting, as councillors are voting.  Send a letter to City Council. Submit by Monday November 10.

Send a letter to City Council

What sending a letter to City Council does: Every Councillor voting on the development will see your letter and personal note. It will be public record. Let’s show up for our ravine!

If you prefer to send a letter yourself, please include the following details for your record to be considered:

The full item number and title: Re: Item CC34.7 - 847-855 Kingston Road - Ontario Land Tribunal Hearing - Request for Directions

Council Meeting Date: For Council Meeting held November 12 to 14, 2025

Your full name, postal code and email address.

💥 And if you’re able, consider attending the Council meetings on November 12-14. We can provide signs or lanyards for you to bring.

What else can you do? Share this beyond the Beach — bring five friends into the effort. We have a draft email and letter template for you to use.👇 Click the button and we'll send you an email template for you to forward to your friends across the city. What happens at Glen Stewart Ravine will be precedent setting for our green-spaces across the city.

Quick recap: a developer wants to build an 11-story LUXURY condo right at the edge of the Glen Stewart Ravine, risking the sustainability of this special ecosystem.

The city council will be voting November 12-14 to accept the settlement reached by the developer, the city, and the TCRA (Toronto and Region Conservation Authority). But we DO NOT WANT TO COMPROMISE on protecting our city’s nature!

Now is the time we must all come together and fight to protect our city’ s vital ecosystems. The Glen Stewart Ravine is home to more than 800 species of plants, insects and animals, some of which are endangered and rare in the city. It is also a critical resting spot for migratory birds. These species cannot send a letter, but YOU CAN!

Warmly,
Protect Our Ravine Initiative Team 🌳
