CLAIREMONT NEIGHBORS — WE NEED YOU TONIGHT!
Please come out tonight to the Clairemont Planning Group meeting to help protect Gershwin Park and our neighborhood. Meeting will be at the Cathy Hopper Friendship Center, 4425 Bannock Ave, San Diego. Strong community opposition is what shut down AT&T's proposed towers last year in Bay Ho, OB and La Jolla!
Meeting starts at 6:00 PM, Cell tower item: 7:00–7:20 PM You do NOT need to stay the whole meeting.
If you can come just for the agenda item between 7:00 and 7:20 PM, your presence still makes a huge difference. Let’s show up strong and make our voices heard!
Key talking points to consider if you plan to speak:
• This is not a safe or appropriate placement for a cell tower, Cell towers do not belong in residential neighborhoods and parks
• Risks include public safety concerns, fire hazards and debris fall from 60+ feet
• This tower will significantly reduce property values, partly due to real/ perceived health concerns (some people believe they are safe, even if you believe this to be true, studies have not been done on children)
• It would permanently alter the view, landscape, and character of Gershwin Park
• The tower is not needed — FCC maps show the area already has 100% fixed and mobile broadband coverage
• Other less intrusive solutions and locations exist, including co-location and engineering alternatives
• Fake tree monopoles create plastic residue and environmental pollution concerns
Every person in the room matters.
Please bring neighbors, friends, and anyone who cares about protecting our park and community.
Let’s stand together for Gershwin Park tonight!
