Bans on single use plastics are beginning to appear all over the world as governments begin to act against the negative impact of plastics to the environment.

Unfortunately, these bans don’t address non-OEM single use clone printer cartridges.

The printer cartridge remanufacturing industry was established as a solution to printer cartridge waste generated by the printer manufacturers.

Now with non-OEM single use clone compatible printer cartridges flooding into markets worldwide, the globe is facing an environmental crisis that needs to be addressed.

The Recycler, a global publication based in the United Kingdom for the recycling and remanufacturing industries, recently published the story about the City of Los Angeles Resolution supporting a State and federal ban on the importation and sale of aftermarket single-use, new built printer cartridges (Click Here for article).

The Recycler article helped bring attention to the industry that non-OEM single use printer cartridges are a global environmental issue, and they need to be banned. Now, it will be a topic that will be brought up at their conference in Prague next week, as the EU is considering legislation that meets the objective outlined in their Circular Economy Action plan.

Non-OEM single use printer cartridges are counterproductive to the circular economy. The importation and sale of these cartridges break the recycling loop and adds unnecessary plastic that can’t be recycled into our environment.

Please continue to share the petition as it’s bringing valuable attention to this serious environmental issue.
