CAMPAIGN UPDATE – WE HAVE A MEETING WITH EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL!

I'm delighted to share that I have secured a meeting with Clive Lewis, Community Protection Manager at East Dunbartonshire Council, this Friday to discuss our petition calling for the introduction of Firework Control Zones across East Dunbartonshire.
This is an important step forward for our campaign. ❤️
I'll be raising the concerns of autistic, neurodivergent and noise-sensitive residents, as well as families, vulnerable people and pet owners who experience genuine distress during fireworks season.
I want to be clear: This campaign is NOT about banning fireworks. It's about finding a more balanced, responsible and compassionate approach that protects people while allowing others to enjoy celebrations.
I'll be asking the Council what practical steps can be taken, whether Firework Control Zones could be introduced and what commitment they are prepared to make towards protecting our communities.
This campaign started because of the impact fireworks have on my daughter Grace, but it has grown into something much bigger. I know there are so many other families and individuals who understand exactly why this matters.
Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, commented and supported the petition so far. Every signature helps demonstrate that this issue matters.
We are being heard, and I will continue pushing for meaningful change.
Please keep sharing and signing. Let's make East Dunbartonshire a more inclusive and considerate place for everyone.
Laura & Grace ❤️
