Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a milestone in our campaign.

I was invited to be a keynote speaker at the Vancouver AI Community Meetup.
This wasn't a typical tech panel; it was a session dedicated to hard conversations about the human and planetary costs of AI.

I stood before a room of developers, entrepreneurs, and researchers and shared my story, our story.

I detailed how my voice was stolen and the  failures of our current laws to protect me. I framed it as a critical warning for every Canadian.

The response was encouraging.

After the talk, I was approached by some valuable new Allies.

The crowd was unanimously in agreement that the lack of a Biometric Identity Rights Act creates tangible harm and undermines trust in the entire digital ecosystem.

It reinforced our point: this is not an anti-technology issue; it is a pro-ethics, pro-security, and pro-human-rights issue.

The conversation is shifting. From policy briefings to community meetups, people are beginning to understand that protecting our biometric identity is foundational to our safety and autonomy in the 21st century.

This momentum is because of you. Every signature, every share, adds weight to our call. We are demonstrating to lawmakers that this isn't a niche concern, but a pressing national priority with widespread public support.

Let's keep pushing. Please, share this petition with your networks once more. Let's show them that the demand for a Biometric Identity Rights Act is only growing stronger.

With gratitude,

Amanda Silvera
