PG&E still plans to restart battery facility in June after Vistra battery storage fire

The PG&E-run battery storage facility automatically shut down on Jan. 16, 2025, due to the Vistra Energy battery storage fire that consumed over half of Vistra's facility. The PG&E facility has remained offline since.

A letter dated January 22, 2025, was sent on behalf of the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors, asking that PG&E's battery storage facility remain offline until the cause of the Vistra fire was identified and addressed.
