We’re Almost at 1,000 Signatures and Over 12,000 Views — Thank You!
We’re gaining real momentum. Nearly 1,000 people have signed the petition, it’s been shared over 720 times, and viewed nearly 13,000 times — proof that people across the province are paying attention and standing up for what’s fair.
Here’s the latest:
Minister Tilley has now admitted that he alone made the decision to remove the 80/20 rule — a rule that has long protected rural small businesses and independent truck drivers from being shut out of government roadwork contracts.
Even more troubling: he’s given three different explanations to different people about why he made this call. He did not consult the men and women this directly impacts. If there were complex reasons, people could understand that — but what no one can understand is why a policy that could have been updated was scrapped entirely.
This decision has real consequences for rural economies, family-run businesses, and independent operators who’ve played by the rules and contributed to their communities for years.
We’re not giving up.
We’re still here, still fighting — and your voices are making a difference.
➡️ Keep sharing the petition. Keep asking questions. And stay tuned — this isn’t over.
