We just learned that City Council is getting a flurry of emails from Housing people supporting the project and granting the appeal! From mostly outside Glendale.

We need to start sending emails right away to City Council.

We have the power- we can make them listen. The way we win this is :  #1 - Show up February 4th to the Council meeting.  Council will cave in a room full of angry residents! Come and speak! www.saveglendalegardens.org to get in touch!

I am writing to express my firm opposition to the appeal to bypass the CEQA process for the proposed project at 1303 - 1315 North Central Avenue. The significance of this matter cannot be overstated, as it involves not only a key historic resource—Glendale Garden Homes—but also the safety and well-being of our community. Allowing this development to move forward unchecked would contribute to the kind of reckless urbanization we’ve seen in larger cities, and it would be a disservice to the people of Glendale who rely on the City’s commitment to responsible development.  

Please deny the appeal to bypass CEQA and require the applicant to prepare a full Environmental Review.  We are counting on you to stand with over two thousand concerned Glendale residents and support the conclusion of our City’s qualified staff, as we do, that Glendale Garden Homes is eligible for listing in the local historic register.  We implore you to consider the perilous downside of granting this appeal and fast-tracking a project that presents a safety risk and threatens to destroy a historic resource, which is, and is part of, an existing lively multi-family community.
