This week has been a reminder that community spaces don’t disappear because people stop caring. They disappear because decisions change, support shifts, and momentum stalls.
But we’re still here.
When we first launched this petition, it was about one place. Since then, it’s become about something bigger — stability, belonging, and the importance of spaces that give people connection, purpose and routine.
We’ve seen: • Closures
• Uncertainty
• Reopening talk
• Selling talk
• Mixed messages
And yet the message behind this petition hasn’t changed.
Community spaces matter.
They matter to people building confidence.
They matter to people learning skills.
They matter to people who rely on routine.
They matter to people who don’t always find it easy to fit elsewhere.
The support so far shows that this isn’t just nostalgia. It’s a shared recognition that local, accessible spaces are vital.
If you haven’t already, please continue to share. Every signature strengthens the case that these spaces are not optional extras — they are foundations.
Thank you for sticking with this.
