Still moving forward
We’ve had another new signature today, and while the numbers don’t always jump quickly, it matters that people are still finding this petition and adding their support.
It’s also encouraging to see continued public acknowledgment from our local MP that Access to Work remains difficult to access, with long waits and ongoing challenges. This reflects what many disabled people are still experiencing — and why continued visibility and pressure remain important.
Access to Work is designed to support disabled people into work, but many are still facing long waits and barriers. At the same time, community spaces continue to play a vital role in supporting people before, during, and between employment.
Community spaces offer routine, confidence, connection, and purpose — often filling the gaps while formal support systems are delayed or unavailable.
When either part struggles, people feel it. That’s why protecting community spaces matters just as much as fixing the systems around work. Both are needed for people to move forward.
Thank you to everyone who has shared, signed, and supported so far. Every single name represents someone who believes community spaces and proper support still matter.
