Since Christmas, I’ve been reflecting on why community spaces matter — especially during times when routines change, support pauses, and people are expected to “just cope.”

Community spaces aren’t just buildings. They’re places where things make sense, where support arrives before crisis, and where people don’t have to keep adjusting alone.

The festive period highlighted just how fragile those anchors can be — and how important it is that they’re protected, funded, and recognised.
