Petition updateProtect No Limits Community Cafe & Hub from ClosureGovernment Responds to Our Petition!

Big news — the UK Government has officially responded to my petition about the closure of No Limits Community Café and Hub and the importance of protecting community spaces.

The response came directly from Miatta Fahnbulleh, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Here’s what it means in plain English:

> The Government recognises that spaces like No Limits play a vital role in building social connections, supporting disabled and neurodivergent people, and strengthening local communities.

They’ve confirmed their commitment to giving communities more power through the upcoming English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, which will introduce a new “right to buy” for community assets — giving local people the first chance to save important buildings and land if they’re put up for sale.

This shows our voices are being heard. Even before reaching 1,000 signatures, our campaign has already made it to Parliament — and now, it’s part of a national conversation on how to protect the places that hold communities together.

Thank you to Martin Wrigley MP for presenting this petition in Parliament and for his continued support, and to everyone who’s signed and shared it so far. Every signature helps highlight why these spaces matter.

I’ll keep following the Bill’s progress and sharing updates — we’re not done yet, but this is real progress. ✊🏻
