Protect Nigerian Children Online
The Issue
Millions of Nigerian Children Are Unsafe Online Every Day
In Nigeria, the internet has become a dangerous space for children. Every day, millions of Nigerian children are exposed to cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, and harmful content.
The numbers are alarming:
• 9 in 10 Nigerian children have experienced harm online.
• 50% of children active online have experienced cyberbullying.
• 89% of children active online have received unsolicited sexual images or requests.
Right now, harmful content stays online for too long. Platforms are not consistently held accountable, and many children affected by online abuse are left without the support they need.
We are calling for stronger legal protections that make online spaces safer for children, improve accountability for digital platforms, and reduce children’s exposure to harmful content and exploitation.
Sign this petition and help build public support for stronger online child protection measures in Nigeria.
