A brief bit of good news - our final court hearing to evict our squatter took place on Friday Feb. 17th, and the judge ordered Roselee out by March 31st.  I've also reported her to the ERAP fraud hotline for filing a false claim for ERAP rental assistance when she never had any rental arrears.  Of course sooner would have been better, but that's not how evictions work - so ultimately, this was a great outcome and we will breathe an enormous sigh of relief when she is finally out. 

Regarding our next goal - changing the law! - that's just getting started.  My sister and I had a fairly productive meeting (at least we think - but time will tell) with a couple of staff from the Manhattan Borough President's office on Feb 15th.  They offered to help us with researching the law(s) that are at issue, and offered to help us connect with other electeds and governmental agencies to draft and then build support for an amendment.  We'll be chipping away at this over the coming weeks/months and will share updates periodically (without clogging up your email inbox with lots of emails).
