Some updates related to this project:

1) Army Corps is currently evaluating the alternative connection to North Church St, and we have requested that their staff update us as this review continues;

2) DEQ has declined to offer a public hearing for now, but they are coordinating with DWR to determine what the implications of the impacts to wood turtles may be for this project;

3) In the meantime, the developer's access to their site via Lovettsville Rd has been suspended, due to the traffic safety concerns.  Lennar has instead begun using Park Place in the Town of Lovettsville, but recently requested that VDOT allow them to implement lane closures on Lovettsville Rd from 7:00am-4:30pm, M-F, so they can resume accessing the site via Lovettsville Rd.  We believe this poses substantial unnecessary safety risks, and ignores the elephant in the room: Lennar has no guarantee of ever being able to make this intersection safe.  We will send an update to VDOT's Office of Land Use, asking them to deny this request.  A draft of this letter is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eejXtZAvYKpvFduRcI73qVxeX_qndLEk9SDYJOikpTQ/edit?tab=t.0
